Joel (em hebraico יוֹאֵל – Yo'el) significa "Javé é Deus" ou "O Senhor é Deus". Era filho de Petuel (Jl 1,1), mas a Bíblia não fornece outras informações sobre sua família ou profissão.

Sua missão foi conclamar o povo de Judá ao arrependimento diante de uma grande calamidade, interpretando-a como um chamado divino à conversão.Em que período viveu?A data de Joel é uma das mais debatidas da Bíblia. Existem duas principais hipóteses:Data antiga (século IX a.C. – cerca de 835–800 a.C.), durante o reinado de Joás. Data mais aceita atualmente (século V–IV a.C. – cerca de 500–400 a.C.), no período pós-exílio, após o retorno da Babilônia. A maioria dos estudiosos modernos prefere o período pós-exílico, porque:o Templo já está em funcionamento; não há referência a um rei em Judá; os sacerdotes aparecem como principais líderes; o contexto combina com a reorganização religiosa após o exílio.

Joel descreve uma devastadora praga de gafanhotos, seguida por uma seca severa. O profeta usa esse desastre natural como símbolo do "Dia do Senhor", um tempo em que Deus julga o pecado, mas também oferece misericórdia aos que se convertem.

1 - Uma terrível praga de gafanhotos destrói plantações, vinhas e árvores, trazendo fome e sofrimento. Joel convoca sacerdotes e todo o povo ao jejum, ao luto e ao arrependimento, reconhecendo que o Dia do Senhor está próximo.

Ужасное нашествие саранчи уничтожает поля, виноградники и деревья, принося голод и страдания. Иоиль призывает священников и весь народ к посту, скорби и покаянию, ибо День Господень близок.

A terrible plague of locusts destroys the fields, vineyards, and trees, bringing famine and suffering. Joel calls the priests and all the people to fasting, mourning, and repentance, because the Day of the Lord is near.

Una terribile piaga di locuste distrugge i campi, le vigne e gli alberi, portando fame e sofferenza. Gioele chiama i sacerdoti e tutto il popolo al digiuno, al lutto e al pentimento, perché il Giorno del Signore è vicino.

Un terrible fléau de sauterelles détruit les champs, les vignes et les arbres, apportant la famine et la souffrance. Joël appelle les prêtres et tout le peuple au jeûne, au deuil et au repentir, car le Jour du Seigneur est proche.

Una terrible plaga de langostas destruye los campos, las viñas y los árboles, trayendo hambre y sufrimiento. Joel llama a los sacerdotes y a todo el pueblo al ayuno, al luto y al arrepentimiento, porque el Día del Señor está cerca.

Eine schreckliche Heuschreckenplage zerstört Felder, Weinberge und Bäume und bringt Hunger und Leid. Joel ruft die Priester und das ganze Volk zu Fasten, Trauer und Umkehr auf, denn der Tag des Herrn ist nahe.

2 - Joel anuncia o Dia do Senhor como tempo de julgamento, mas também de misericórdia. Deus convida o povo a voltar para Ele de todo o coração, com jejum e oração. Aos arrependidos, promete restaurar a terra, devolver a alegria e derramar o seu Espírito.


 Иоиль возвещает День Господень как время суда, но также и милости. Бог призывает народ обратиться к Нему всем сердцем, с постом и молитвой. Кающимся Он обещает восстановить землю, вернуть радость и излить Свой Дух.

Joel announces the Day of the Lord as a time of judgment, but also of mercy. God calls the people to return to Him with all their hearts, through fasting and prayer. To those who repent, He promises to restore the land, return their joy, and pour out His Spirit.

Gioele annuncia il Giorno del Signore come tempo di giudizio, ma anche di misericordia. Dio invita il popolo a tornare a Lui con tutto il cuore, nel digiuno e nella preghiera. Ai pentiti promette di restaurare la terra, restituire la gioia ed effondere il suo Spirito.

Joël annonce le Jour du Seigneur comme un temps de jugement, mais aussi de miséricorde. Dieu appelle le peuple à revenir à Lui de tout son cœur, par le jeûne et la prière. À ceux qui se repentent, Il promet de restaurer la terre, de rendre la joie et de répandre son Esprit.

Joel anuncia el Día del Señor como un tiempo de juicio, pero también de misericordia. Dios llama al pueblo a volver a Él de todo corazón, con ayuno y oración. A los arrepentidos les promete restaurar la tierra, devolver la alegría y derramar su Espíritu.

Joel verkündet den Tag des Herrn als Zeit des Gerichts, aber auch der Barmherzigkeit. Gott ruft das Volk auf, mit ganzem Herzen, durch Fasten und Gebet, zu ihm zurückzukehren. Den Umkehrenden verspricht er, das Land wiederherzustellen, die Freude zurückzugeben und seinen Geist auszugießen.

3 - Deus promete derramar o seu Espírito sobre toda a humanidade: filhos e filhas profetizarão, idosos terão sonhos e jovens terão visões. Antes do grande Dia do Senhor haverá sinais nos céus e na terra, e todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo.

Бог обещает излить Свой Дух на всё человечество: сыновья и дочери будут пророчествовать, старцы увидят сны, а юноши — видения. Перед великим Днём Господним появятся знамения на небе и на земле, и всякий, кто призовёт имя Господа, спасётся.

God promises to pour out His Spirit upon all humanity: sons and daughters will prophesy, the old will dream dreams, and the young will see visions. Before the great Day of the Lord there will be signs in heaven and on earth, and everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Dio promette di effondere il suo Spirito su tutta l'umanità: figli e figlie profetizzeranno, gli anziani faranno sogni e i giovani avranno visioni. Prima del grande Giorno del Signore ci saranno segni nel cielo e sulla terra, e chiunque invocherà il nome del Signore sarà salvato.

Dieu promet de répandre son Esprit sur toute l'humanité : les fils et les filles prophétiseront, les vieillards feront des songes et les jeunes auront des visions. Avant le grand Jour du Seigneur, il y aura des signes dans le ciel et sur la terre, et quiconque invoquera le nom du Seigneur sera sauvé.

Dios promete derramar su Espíritu sobre toda la humanidad: los hijos y las hijas profetizarán, los ancianos tendrán sueños y los jóvenes verán visiones. Antes del gran Día del Señor habrá señales en el cielo y en la tierra, y todo el que invoque el nombre del Señor será salvo.

Gott verspricht, seinen Geist über die ganze Menschheit auszugießen: Söhne und Töchter werden weissagen, die Alten werden Träume haben und die Jungen Visionen sehen. Vor dem großen Tag des Herrn werden Zeichen am Himmel und auf der Erde erscheinen, und jeder, der den Namen des Herrn anruft, wird gerettet werden.

4 - Deus reúne todas as nações no vale de Josafá para julgá-las por terem oprimido o seu povo. Depois do julgamento, Jerusalém será santa, Judá viverá em segurança, a terra será fértil e o Senhor habitará para sempre no meio do seu povo.

Бог собирает все народы в долине Иосафата, чтобы судить их за угнетение Своего народа. После суда Иерусалим станет святым, Иуда будет жить в безопасности, земля станет плодородной, и Господь будет пребывать среди Своего народа вовеки.

God gathers all the nations in the Valley of Jehoshaphat to judge them for oppressing His people. After the judgment, Jerusalem will be holy, Judah will live in safety, the land will become fruitful, and the Lord will dwell among His people forever.

Dio raduna tutte le nazioni nella valle di Giosafat per giudicarle perché hanno oppresso il suo popolo. Dopo il giudizio, Gerusalemme sarà santa, Giuda vivrà in sicurezza, la terra sarà feconda e il Signore abiterà per sempre in mezzo al suo popolo.

Dieu rassemble toutes les nations dans la vallée de Josaphat pour les juger parce qu'elles ont opprimé son peuple. Après le jugement, Jérusalem sera sainte, Juda vivra en sécurité, la terre sera féconde et le Seigneur habitera pour toujours au milieu de son peuple.

Dios reúne a todas las naciones en el valle de Josafat para juzgarlas por haber oprimido a su pueblo. Después del juicio, Jerusalén será santa, Judá vivirá en seguridad, la tierra será fértil y el Señor habitará para siempre en medio de su pueblo.

Gott versammelt alle Völker im Tal Joschafat, um sie zu richten, weil sie sein Volk unterdrückt haben. Nach dem Gericht wird Jerusalem heilig sein, Juda wird in Sicherheit leben, das Land wird fruchtbar sein, und der Herr wird für immer mitten unter seinem Volk wohnen.
