1 - Nabucodonosor conquista Jerusalém e leva jovens judeus para a Babilônia. Daniel, Ananias, Misael e Azarias são escolhidos para servir na corte e recebem novos nomes. Daniel decide não se contaminar com os alimentos e o vinho do rei. Deus lhe concede sabedoria e conhecimento, e os quatro jovens demonstram ser superiores aos demais.

Nebuchadnezzar conquers Jerusalem and takes young Judeans to Babylon. Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah are chosen to serve in the royal court and are given new names. Daniel refuses to defile himself with the king’s food and wine. God grants them wisdom and knowledge, and the four young men prove superior to the others.

Daniel pede a Deus sabedoria e recebe a revelação: o rei sonhara com uma grande estátua formada por diferentes metais, que representa uma sucessão de reinos. Uma pedra destrói a estátua e se transforma em uma grande montanha, simbolizando o reino estabelecido por Deus, que permanecerá para sempre. Nebuchadnezzar has a troubling dream and demands that his wise men reveal both the dream and its interpretation. Daniel asks God for wisdom and receives the revelation: the king saw a great statue made of different metals, representing a succession of kingdoms. A stone strikes and destroys the statue and becomes a great mountain, symbolising the kingdom established by God, which will endure forever. Recognising Daniel’s wisdom, Nebuchadnezzar elevates him to a position of great authority.

Daniel bittet Gott um Weisheit und erhält die Offenbarung: Der König hat eine große Statue aus verschiedenen Metallen gesehen, die eine Abfolge von Reichen darstellt. Ein Stein zerstört die Statue und wird zu einem großen Berg, der das von Gott errichtete Reich symbolisiert, das für immer bestehen wird. Nebukadnezar erkennt Daniels Weisheit an und erhebt ihn zu einer hohen Stellung.

3 - Nabucodonosor manda construir uma enorme estátua de ouro e ordena que todos a adorem. Sadraque, Mesaque e Abede-Nego recusam-se a prestar culto à estátua e são lançados numa fornalha ardente. Porém, Deus os protege, e eles saem ilesos. Impressionado com o milagre, Nabucodonosor reconhece o poder do Deus deles e proíbe que alguém fale contra Ele.

Навуходоносор устанавливает огромную золотую статую и приказывает всем поклоняться ей. Седрах, Мисах и Авденаго отказываются поклоняться идолу и бросаются в раскалённую печь. Nebuchadnezzar sets up a huge golden statue and commands everyone to worship it. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refuse to bow down to the idol and are thrown into a blazing furnace. Yet God protects them, and they emerge unharmed. Astonished by the miracle, Nebuchadnezzar acknowledges the power of their God and forbids anyone to speak against Him.

Nabucodonosor fa erigere una grande statua d’oro e ordina a tutti di adorarla. Sidrac, Misac e Abdènago rifiutano di prostrarsi davanti all’idolo e vengono gettati in una fornace ardente. Tuttavia Dio li protegge ed essi escono illesi. Stupito dal miracolo, Nabucodonosor riconosce la potenza del loro Dio e proibisce a chiunque di parlare contro di Lui.

Schadrach, Meschach und Abed-Nego weigern sich, sich vor dem Götzen niederzuwerfen, und werden in einen glühenden Ofen geworfen. Doch Gott beschützt sie, und sie kommen unversehrt heraus. Von dem Wunder beeindruckt, erkennt Nebukadnezar die Macht ihres Gottes an und verbietet, gegen ihn zu reden.

 

4 - Nabucodonosor tem outro sonho, desta vez sobre uma grande árvore que cresce até o céu e depois é derrubada. Daniel interpreta o sonho como um aviso: o rei será humilhado por causa de seu orgulho e perderá temporariamente sua condição de governante. Depois de um período de sofrimento, Nabucodonosor reconhece que o poder pertence ao Deus Altíssimo. Sua razão e sua dignidade são restauradas, e ele louva a Deus.

Навуходоносор видит новый сон о великом дереве, которое вырастает до небес, а затем бывает срублено. Даниил объясняет, что это предупреждение царю: из-за своей гордости он будет унижен и на некоторое время потеряет царскую власть. После периода страдания Навуходоносор признаёт, что власть принадлежит Всевышнему Богу. Его разум и достоинство возвращаются, и он прославляет Бога.

Nebuchadnezzar has another dream, this time about a great tree that grows to the heavens and is then cut down. Daniel interprets it as a warning: because of his pride, the king will be humbled and temporarily lose his royal authority. After a period of suffering, Nebuchadnezzar acknowledges that power belongs to the Most High God. His reason and dignity are restored, and he praises God.

Nabucodonosor fa un altro sogno, questa volta riguardo a un grande albero che cresce fino al cielo e poi viene abbattuto. Daniele lo interpreta come un avvertimento: a causa del suo orgoglio, il re sarà umiliato e perderà temporaneamente il suo potere. Dopo un periodo di sofferenza, Nabucodonosor riconosce che il potere appartiene a Dio, l’Altissimo. La sua ragione e la sua dignità vengono ristabilite, ed egli loda Dio.

Nabuchodonosor fait un nouveau rêve, cette fois au sujet d’un grand arbre qui atteint le ciel avant d’être abattu. Daniel l’interprète comme un avertissement : à cause de son orgueil, le roi sera humilié et perdra temporairement son pouvoir. Après une période de souffrance, Nabuchodonosor reconnaît que le pouvoir appartient au Dieu Très-Haut. Sa raison et sa dignité lui sont rendues, et il loue Dieu.

Nebukadnezar hat einen weiteren Traum, diesmal von einem großen Baum, der bis zum Himmel wächst und anschließend gefällt wird. Daniel deutet ihn als Warnung: Wegen seines Hochmuts wird der König gedemütigt und verliert vorübergehend seine königliche Macht. Nach einer Zeit des Leidens erkennt Nebukadnezar, dass die Macht dem Höchsten Gott gehört. Seine Vernunft und seine Würde werden wiederhergestellt, und er preist Gott.

5 - Durante um grande banquete, o rei Belsazar usa os vasos sagrados retirados do Templo de Jerusalém para beber e celebrar seus deuses. De repente, aparece uma mão misteriosa escrevendo na parede. Daniel é chamado para interpretar a mensagem: “Mene, Mene, Tequel e Parsim”. Ele anuncia que Deus julgou Belsazar, cujo reino será dividido e entregue aos medos e persas. Naquela mesma noite, Belsazar é morto e Dario, o medo, assume o reino.

Во время большого пира царь Валтасар использует священные сосуды из Иерусалимского храма для питья и прославления своих богов. Внезапно появляется таинственная рука, пишущая на стене. During a great banquet, King Belshazzar uses the sacred vessels taken from the Temple in Jerusalem to drink and praise his gods. Suddenly, a mysterious hand appears and writes on the wall. Daniel is summoned to interpret the inscription: “Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin.” He declares that God has judged Belshazzar: his kingdom will be divided and given to the Medes and Persians. That very night Belshazzar dies, and Darius the Mede receives the kingdom.

Durante un grande banchetto, il re Baldassàr usa i vasi sacri sottratti al Tempio di Gerusalemme per bere e celebrare i propri dèi. Improvvisamente appare una mano misteriosa che scrive sulla parete. Daniele viene chiamato a interpretare la scritta: «Mene, Mene, Tekel e Parsin». Egli annuncia che Dio ha giudicato Baldassàr: il suo regno sarà diviso e consegnato ai Medi e ai Persiani. Quella stessa notte Baldassàr muore e Dario il Medo riceve il regno.

Au cours d’un grand banquet, le roi Balthazar utilise les vases sacrés provenant du Temple de Jérusalem pour boire et célébrer ses dieux. Soudain, une main mystérieuse apparaît et écrit sur le mur. Daniel est appelé pour interpréter l’inscription : « Mene, Mene, Tekel et Parsin ». Il annonce que Dieu a jugé Balthazar : son royaume sera divisé et donné aux Mèdes et aux Perses. Cette même nuit, Balthazar meurt et Darius le Mède reçoit le royaume.

Plötzlich erscheint eine geheimnisvolle Hand und schreibt an die Wand. Daniel wird gerufen, um die Schrift zu deuten: „Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin“. Er verkündet, dass Gott Belschazzar gerichtet hat: Sein Reich wird geteilt und den Medern und Persern gegeben. Noch in derselben Nacht stirbt Belschazzar, und Darius der Meder übernimmt das Reich.

6 - Daniel ocupa uma posição importante no governo de Dario, destacando-se por sua integridade e sabedoria. Outros administradores, movidos pela inveja, procuram uma acusação contra ele, mas não encontram nenhuma falta. Então convencem o rei a decretar que ninguém poderia fazer pedidos a outro deus ou homem durante trinta dias. Daniel continua orando a Deus três vezes ao dia e é lançado na cova dos leões. Deus o protege, e Daniel sai ileso. Dario reconhece o poder do Deus de Daniel e ordena que Ele seja honrado em todo o reino.

Daniel holds an important position under King Darius, distinguished by his integrity and wisdom. Other officials, driven by envy, try to find grounds for accusing him but discover no fault. They therefore persuade the king to issue a decree forbidding anyone for thirty days to make a request to any god or person other than the king. Daniel continues to pray to God three times a day and is thrown into the lions’ den. God protects him, and Daniel emerges unharmed. Darius acknowledges the power of Daniel’s God and orders Him to be honoured throughout the kingdom.

Daniele occupa una posizione importante nel governo di Dario, distinguendosi per integrità e saggezza. Altri funzionari, spinti dall’invidia, cercano un’accusa contro di lui, ma non trovano alcuna colpa. Daniel continue de prier Dieu trois fois par jour et est jeté dans la fosse aux lions. Dieu le protège et Daniel en sort indemne. Daniel bekleidet unter König Darius eine wichtige Stellung und zeichnet sich durch seine Integrität und Weisheit aus. Andere Beamte versuchen aus Neid, einen Grund für eine Anklage gegen ihn zu finden, entdecken aber keinen Fehler. Deshalb überreden sie den König, ein Gesetz zu erlassen, nach dem dreißig Tage lang niemand einen anderen Gott oder Menschen als den König um etwas bitten darf. 7 - Daniel tem uma visão noturna de quatro grandes animais que surgem do mar, representando quatro reinos. Depois aparece o Ancião de Dias, símbolo do julgamento divino, e um personagem semelhante a um Filho do Homem, que recebe domínio, glória e um reino eterno. A visão mostra que os poderes humanos são temporários, enquanto o domínio de Deus permanece para sempre.

Даниил видит ночное видение: из моря выходят четыре великих зверя, символизирующие четыре царства. Затем появляется Ветхий Днями, представляющий божественный суд, и некто подобный Сыну Человеческому, которому даны власть, слава и вечное царство. Видение показывает, что человеческие царства временны, а власть Бога пребывает вечно.

Daniel has a night vision of four great beasts rising from the sea, representing four kingdoms. Then the Ancient of Days appears, symbolising divine judgement, and one like a Son of Man receives dominion, glory and an everlasting kingdom. The vision shows that human powers are temporary, whereas God’s rule endures forever.

Daniele ha una visione notturna nella quale quattro grandi bestie emergono dal mare, rappresentando quattro regni. Poi appare l’Antico dei Giorni, simbolo del giudizio divino, e una figura simile a un Figlio dell’Uomo, alla quale vengono dati dominio, gloria e un regno eterno. La visione mostra che i poteri umani sono temporanei, mentre il dominio di Dio rimane per sempre.

Daniel reçoit une vision nocturne dans laquelle quatre grandes bêtes sortent de la mer, représentant quatre royaumes. Daniel hat ein nächtliches Gesicht: Vier große Tiere steigen aus dem Meer empor und symbolisieren vier Reiche. Danach erscheint der Alte an Tagen, ein Bild für das göttliche Gericht, und eine Gestalt wie ein Menschensohn, dem Herrschaft, Ehre und ein ewiges Reich gegeben werden. Die Vision zeigt, dass menschliche Mächte vergänglich sind, während Gottes Herrschaft für immer besteht.

8 - Daniel tem uma visão de um carneiro com dois chifres e de um bode com um grande chifre, que entram em conflito. O anjo Gabriel explica que os animais representam reinos e poderes históricos. O grande chifre do bode é quebrado e surgem outros quatro; posteriormente aparece um pequeno chifre que se volta contra o povo de Deus e profana o santuário. A visão termina anunciando que esse poder será finalmente derrotado.

Даниил видит видение барана с двумя рогами и козла с большим рогом, которые вступают в борьбу. Ангел Гавриил объясняет, что животные символизируют царства и исторические силы. Daniel has a vision of a ram with two horns and a goat with a prominent horn, which confront each other. The angel Gabriel explains that the animals represent kingdoms and historical powers. The goat’s great horn is broken and four others arise; later, a little horn appears and turns against God’s people and desecrates the sanctuary. The vision ends by announcing the defeat of this power.

Daniele ha una visione di un montone con due corna e di un capro con un grande corno, che entrano in conflitto. L’angelo Gabriele spiega che gli animali rappresentano regni e potenze storiche. Il grande corno del capro viene spezzato e ne sorgono altri quattro; in seguito appare un piccolo corno che si oppone al popolo di Dio e profana il santuario. Daniel reçoit une vision d’un bélier à deux cornes et d’un bouc portant une grande corne, qui s’affrontent. L’ange Gabriel explique que les animaux représentent des royaumes et des puissances historiques. La grande corne du bouc est brisée et quatre autres apparaissent ; ensuite surgit une petite corne qui s’oppose au peuple de Dieu et profane le sanctuaire. La vision annonce finalement la défaite de cette puissance.

Daniel tiene una visión de un carnero con dos cuernos y un macho cabrío con un gran cuerno, que se enfrentan. El ángel Gabriel explica que los animales representan reinos y poderes históricos. Daniel sieht einen Widder mit zwei Hörnern und einen Ziegenbock mit einem großen Horn, die gegeneinander kämpfen. Der Engel Gabriel erklärt, dass die Tiere Reiche und historische Mächte darstellen. Das große Horn des Ziegenbocks wird zerbrochen, und vier andere treten an seine Stelle; später erscheint ein kleines Horn, das sich gegen Gottes Volk wendet und das Heiligtum entweiht. Am Ende wird die endgültige Niederlage dieser Macht angekündigt.

9 - Daniel lê as Escrituras e compreende que o período do exílio de Jerusalém estava chegando ao fim. Ele então faz uma longa oração de confissão, arrependimento e súplica, reconhecendo os pecados do povo e a justiça de Deus. Daniel pede misericórdia e restauração para Jerusalém. 13 - Susana, uma mulher justa e fiel, é falsamente acusada por dois anciãos que tentam seduzi-la. Como ela se recusa a pecar, eles a acusam de adultério. Condenada injustamente, Susana confia em Deus. Daniel intervém, interroga os dois anciãos separadamente e demonstra que suas testemunhas são falsas. Susanna is saved, and the elders receive the punishment they intended for her.

14 - Daniel demonstra que os ídolos não são verdadeiros deuses. Primeiro, desmascara o culto a Bel, mostrando que os sacerdotes e suas famílias consumiam secretamente as oferendas. He then confronts the dragon worshipped by the Babylonians and demonstrates that it is not a god either. Because of this, Daniel is thrown into the lions’ den again, but God protects him once more. The chapter emphasises that faith in God is stronger than idolatry and human power.
